thank you to everyone who has replied. I have had nets over them until yesterday when I had to get them off as the sprouts had grown through them. I must admit  I didnt firm them in all that much but they were strong plants I had grown myself in individual pots. They are now standing about 3foot high,  Dont know if they were F1 but they were a well known brand. I know that you put brasicas in salt water to get rid of the nasties but my sprouts look all eaten so dont really fancy them at all. will probably try the tops though so not all is lost. I was just looking forward to eating my own sprouts for Christmas
