Yes, strawberry wine is worth making, but needs patience.  I keep the bottles for two years before opening them.  The first two-year wait is the worst, but after that, a succession of vintages keeps the wife well supplied with her favourite sweet wine.

I've made it before some years ago but wasn't all that impressed and it looks like I'm going to have a bumper crop this year so would love to give it a whirl again with a tried and trusted recipe.

strawberry ice cream

200 ml whipping cream
juice of half a lemon
75g caster sugar
350g strawbs

mush the strawbs, mix everything together and then freeze, taking out of the freezer to mix every 30 minutes until it is the desired consistancy
