Wow, I"m amazed at how expensive asparagus plants are in the UK. I sometimes pay up to 99p for a large root and feel I've been overcharged. Normally I pay about 40p and still grumble at the cost.

Yes they are blooming expensive! I got mine from a wyevale garden centre at about £1 each root and they all took! Looking forward to two years time!!
