Hi All,

I'm struggling with a bad case of feather pecking which has unfortunately got out of control. I've seperated the main offender but there is 2 more remaining that transiently/infrequently do it too.

What can I do to try and reduce the amount of pecking/feather loss? I have tried anti pecking spray and have treated for mites in and outside of the coop and on the birds.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Buy some anti pecking beak clips - the domestic fowl trust sell them:-

Do your birds have plenty of space and enough variety of things to keep them occupied. Boredom can sometimes cause feather pecking as can a lack of protein. However until you can sort out why they are doing it try the beak clips to help get them out of the habit.

Thanks for that Joyfull, I have an almost completely bald chicken now, and have treated for everything. I spray her with violet spray too. I have caught her pulling her own feathers and the feathers she has left are very short! The ladies she lives with both have bald bottoms so I wonder if she's trimming them too. I'll give the clips a go and see how she gets on.
