Hi guys i think, well i'm pretty sure i have a broody hen she started sitting on eggs friday evening i added some more eggs yesterday that i was kindly given. I am just wanting to know i have done everything i can for her i have placed her in a hut on her own. i was told to put a peice of turf in for her to nest on and she has food and water is there anything else i can do? cheers Bailz

Hello Bailz,

you may fid that you have to push her off her nest twice a day to eat, drink and poo.  Some broodys can starve themselves to death. 

You may also like to think about what you are going to do with the cockerels.  In the meantime good luck and keep us posted!

Mine should have started pipping by now.  I will be happy if they start to pip today and I get some Easter chicks  :)

why whot do i need to do with cockrel she is not in same run now? She did go and eat n drink today i will make sure i keep up with it cheers bailz.

bantam novice meant what are you going to do with the cockerels that hatch - usually at least half of those that hatch will be boys.
Staffies are softer than you think.
