Hi all,

Are ducks feet fragile?  I'm new to duck rearing and are used to hens walking on the gravel drive we have around the house.  The ducks are now freeranging and have started to lay siege to the area around the coop which means they need to walk across gravel and I'm worried that they may damage their feet.

I think they should be ok afterall you see wild ducks wadling all over the place including disused gravel pits

Ducks feet are pretty tough so don't worry about them injuring themselves on gravel (after all in 10 minutes it will be under mud anyway ). Ducks feet and leg are more prone to injury than chicken as they are not really built for grace on land but gravel will be fine.
