Plumbeena leftovers query
« on: September 09, 2010, 19:17 »
Hi All,

I have made some Plumbeena tonight, and was wondering if I could use the leftover pulp for plum cheese, or would all the extra flavour have been used?

I have seen this advised on another website, but wondered if the experts on this sort of thing would be able to help me out, before I use my sugar.

Thanks

Hi Prikay,

Plumbeena is a soft fruit cordial using Plums. It is a take on Ribeena. I got the recipe from Pam Corbins book, and have made two different types of Plumbeena now from my trees. Basically, you cook the fruit with water, strain it over night, and add sugar to make a cordial, bottle it, and drink. Very nice and refreshing.  I might try an apple and cinnamon one next, using an assortment of apples.
