strange egg pic attached
« on: June 12, 2010, 12:37 »
Hi all just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this strange thing that on of my girls has produced this morning?
It had a rubber like feel to it and it was rubber like all the way thry when i broke it to see what was inside? Very odd indeed?
They have access to oyster shell and my garden has allot of grit?

How old is the hen who laid it? Or you don't know which one laid it?
All lives are precious.

looks like a lash to me, sadly after laying one of these it is very rare for the chicken to lay again  :(
Staffies are softer than you think.

I'm quite sure it's a lash too  :(.
I've seen some REALLY REALLY strange ones on the internet and I'm positive yours is a lash too.

I've been told that the average life span of a chicken is 8 years of age and that hens reach menopause at around 3 or 4 years of age.
