Hi all,

I am new to the forum and fairly new to veg growing.

Can some one tell me: when growing toms in a grow-bag and and in a ring, EI a plastic pot with the bottom cut out, do you only but water in the grow-bag or do you also water the pot as well as fertilize?

You're supposed to water the growbag and feed the pot. I've been sloshing a bit in the pots lately as its been so dry the compost was like dust.

yeah feed goes into the top of the ring and plain water in the outer part of the ring.  I tend to fill the outer ring to the top and there is a 1" gap from the compost to the top of the upper ring which I use as the measure for feeding once a week (sunday's)

Until the roots reach the growbag initially you will need to both water and feed the pot
