I couldn't furtle today as my gander bag is leaking. However when the grunge comes upon me, spritely and with style, I shall grommet.

Nice one  :D

Are you Syd or Rumpo  ;)

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

My early potatoes are the Swift variety which are supposed to be ready about now, so "furtling" was legitimate!  :tongue2: The other varieties aren't ready yet though.

Lardman scab is nothing to worry about it should scrape of when you scrape the spuds its caused by light soil and dry conditions ,Wilja is a resitant variety they are second earlies put plenty manure or compost where your going to plant your spuds and pick an area with out lime and you will get good spuds

I'm new at all this and "furtled" for the first time today.  Result: marble-size potato!  Nice to know they're doing their thing, but a wee bit longer in the ground required I fear :)
