Shell less egg
« on: May 28, 2010, 21:17 »
Maybe a stupid question but this this what is refered to as a softie? Anyway my son has just been out  in the garden and found a shell less egg. I've no idea who layed it, I havent been paying much attention to egg laying this past week as we're on Tylan egg withdrawel so havent really checked whos layed and who hasnt.
Should I be worried? their shells are normally really good and strong

My hens lay a 'softie' once in a while and they normally have hard shells.
Make sure yours have calcium in their diet.
If they don't lay softies regularly, then I don't think you should be too concerned.
