pea pods

Is there any real reason why you can't eat immature pea pods? They are a bit tough when the peas are ripe but I've got so many I just wondered.....?

I don't see why not.
Do you want to eat them as mangetout?

Pea pod have nasty tough membraines inside them to protect the peas.

Once you have eaten the peas there is nothing wrong with chewing off the green bits and leaving the membrane, I've ate them like that all my life.

1st year at 'proper' veggie gardening with 2x 12ftx4ft raised beds. loads of patio containers, 2 chickens and 1 ferret.

The kids keep nicking my peas whilst immature.  They seem to like them better like that.
