I'm going to put some in this Autumn, Glen Magna & Autumn Bliss.

The gardening book I have recommends spacing these 45cm apart with the row spacing 1.2 - 2m apart.

I only have a half plot and limited space on my soft fruit bed, if I space them about 40cm apart and the rows about 80cm - 1m apart will they be OK?

That would allow me two rows with 5 canes in each, should that provide a decent crop of berries?

When planting them, I was just planning on digging the area over, adding manure and then creating a couple of frames like the ones in this video:

Anything else I should consider? Is it best to order these online or buy at the garden centre?

I should think your spacing should be ok, given that they will send out new canes in the rows, and further out as well!! Plant with their roots about 2-3" below the surface - after it has settled - and I have seen people covering them with lots of straw, etc, in summer to keep moisture in. I would either buy from a reputable on-line firm - someone may recommend one on here from previous experience - I know of Ken Muir for one - and the variety would have to suit your soil and they could help with this. If you buy at a good garden centre, at least you can see what you're getting.
