The raised bed was made last November buy lifting and turning the grass, covering with layers of paper and filled up with a mix of top soil and compast.

Now I have loads of patches of the below? at first I thought the grass had managed to get through but after digging some up I suspect its deffo not grass.

Does anyone have any ideas what these are? and can I just pluck them all out and carry on regardless?? (This weekend was going to be a big 'plant out day'  :(

Thanks

Scotty

Looks a little like wheat or another grain plant, do you feed the wild birds ??

Just hoe it all off and plant  ;)

I'd back Richy (and also keep my hoe handy; could have been something much worse though!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Is that a bulb at the end? Garlic? Grape hyacinth, even. Which we have springing up all over the place.
