I understand that you can't use apple cider vinigar in galvanized drinkers does anyone know if apple cider vinigar could be used in an enamel drinker?

as long as it is not chipped it will be fine.
the acid in the vinegar attacks unprotected metal, so will attack the zinc on the galvanising, it will be ok on enamel, as long as it cant get to the metal.
plastic is easier as it can be knocked without chipping (usually) and are nice and cheap

I have always been advised against it so i wouldnt risk it!. I gave up with my chickens water holders in the cold, they kept cracking. They now have large colourfull plastic dog bowls from wi*co's and they work a treat :D

Why , thats a brill idea dizzylizzy will give it a go, we have a plastc drinker at the moment but it does waste a lot of water and cyder vinegar too thanks X
