I have 6 chickens from someone giving up the allotment and 3 have been laying throughout winter so far. My query is that I have only 2 eggs most days and sometimes 1. They are all eating well and have oyster and grit available. Could it have started to moult? I haven't seen any feathers lying around from any of them. Thank you.

i have 6 chickens and get one egg a  day; consider yourself lucky. mine might be past their laying best though, yet they still might have the winter blues and thus off the lay.

I'm currently getting four a day from eight ... so 50% isn't bad!

I'm only getting 1 from 3, 2 of mine haven't laid since about August when they all went broody
