not everyone has bad experiences when re homing ex batts yeh  there can be slighty more probelms  with them but not that many more then a pol bird . i got 14 ex batts in one go without even looking for knowledgable ppl to talk to i just got them as i know rescuing animals no matter what they are is something i can do blindfolded  :lol:having good ppl to talk to on forums like this really do make things easier to deal with  though .
you could maybe go for 4 ex batts an maybe 6 pol depending on how much room u have ,

Right then....Weve spent so much time considering this and what we want exactly from our chooks and have decided on the following.

We are going to get 3 Exbatts as pets and anything else they give us apart from their love is a bonus.

We are going to get 2 pol chickens as well (bigger chicken coop being built now!)

We have got so interested in the whole rehoming bit we have now voluntered to help organise the rehoming and transport of these poor little chooks!!!

Really glad we have made our minds up and thanks again everyone for all of your advice and brutally honest answers.  Now then be prepared for the forthcoming panic attacks online when I see the smallest thing wrong with them

We will want regular updates and photos (especially of your exbatts starting with day 1 so we can all admire how much they improve)  :D
Staffies are softer than you think.

Just been chatting to the national organiser and we are now volunteers!

Helping transport the hens and propbably setting up a collection point for them in our area.

Is it normal to get this excited once the decision has been made???

There will be lots of pics of course of our new girls in their new home!

Oh yes, I remember so well how excited dizzy lizzy was when she was counting down to get her girls (we all ended up counting how many more sleeps she had until the day arrived  ). Flowerpower got hers on the same day so both of them were mega excited  :D. Lizzie now helps out with ex-batts by caring for the injured ones until they are well enough to be rehomed as well as homing some herself  :)

Min200 you are a hero

Think you've made the right decision, and so pleased that you've taken up the cause for the ex batt girls.  Marvellous :D  Couldn't be more pleased.

So, I make that 28 get ups.  They'll be here in no time at all.  Excited already.  Brings it all back to me.  If you can find Lizzies countdown post, it would give you such a laugh, it went on for ages.
