Does any one know of any problems/conditions/diseases which would affect development of feathers such that it would cause black feathers  to turn white/ grey at the tips? 

This is happening to my black australorp bantam, to the feathers on her head. Could it have anything to do with moulting or something lacking in her diet?

I tried to post a piccy but it was too big.

Any ideas?

How old is she? Is she moulting??? Perhaps she's a cross breed???

I got her in July 2008 at about 12 weeks old. She is going through quite a dramatic moult at the moment but I can still see the white marks on her head.

She's a pure breed australorp who was totally black until about 6 months ago.

Hmmmm.....my black maran cock is 13 weeks old....at 11\12 weeks his head went white, now his back is heading that way too!! Nothing wrong with him.....seems he's a sussex\maran cross and not a pure old maran after all!!
Which is fine by me as he's striking looking and I'd bought a load of hatching eggs for my broody, from which he appeared and anything was a surprise and a bonus!

Probably going to be much the same with yours! I've never heard of any issues that would cause this to happen.....however someone with more knowledge may be along to tell you otherwise.

As for posting pics....go onto photobucket....registering takes seconds....upload ur photo there....copy the IMG code and paste here - it uploads a large pic and takes up much less space! Someone may be able to tell u from that then!!
