mould on poo
« on: October 07, 2009, 23:19 »
Wonder if anyone can help?
I have an Omlet cube which is fantastic. :D I only have 3 girls so there's loads of perching space and poo drops down into large trays which I line with newspaper.
I've been changing the newspaper every 3 days or so and have noticed recently there is a grey hairy mould growing really quickly on some droppings. Has anyone else noticed this?
Are the spores harmful? The cube is well ventilated but could this mould growth explosion be due to increased humidity? This is mushroom season isn't it?
Obviously I'll be changing the newspaper daily now.....just wondered...
