potatoe woe
« on: August 23, 2009, 18:00 »
Although I was very careful not to pack away any damp or wet potatoes I have just found that quite a few are going mushy, they have ben stored for about 4/5 weeks. Any ideas why this could be. Spuds were stored in hessian sacks and paper potatoe bags.

Keep the faith.

Did you have any signs of blight on the foliage?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Starts off a brown mostly on the edges of the leaves, rapidly goes black and spreads like wildfire through the plant.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

you have stored some spuds with blight empty all what you have stored and check them any with blight will rot and cause the others to rot as well you will have to keep checking them every couple of weeks at least for rotten ones till you have used them up
