AM I too late to put some potaots and onion sets in the ground, I found some stray sets and 3 seed potato tubers I missed, they look fine, not at all wrinkly so could I plant them in the next few weeks? (AS plot won't be ready untill then!)

nope, our local farmers are just about to put their spuds in, I have pentland javlin still to go in which i will put in at the end of the month.

Put your tatties in a little compost now (6 inch pot or ice cream tub each).  Even if they are resting on the surface of damp compost in full light, they'll kick into life all the quicker when you transplant them.
