I made mine from the wire shelves you get in greenhouses but someone I know brought a dog cage one of the collapsable  type you use to transport your dog in. I guess if it going to be a regular problem its worth spending a bit of money. this time I am letting mine stay broody and putting some eggs under her.

Hey I'm over the moon., cos I've got a collapsable dog cage. What about night time tho.  Maybe just cover her over, tho will she try and eat the cover. :) Thanks again for your help.

My Silver Sussex went broody, I tried to snap her out of it by lifting her off the nest and putting her out and shutting the coup, but as mentioned before, the other chooks couldn't get in to lay! Even when we were successful, moving her after the others had laid she just went on being broody right where we put her! So after a while I gave up and just left her to it, she got over it on her own, and is now back to normal, took a good 5-6 weeks tho! Tatty

I forgot to mention that I continued to lift her once a day to eat, drink and poo!

The Cage Method.
Well guess what!  I have a dog cage doing nothing, in the garage.  Although it looks as though they might be coming out of 'the broody stage',  (yet again).  But if it happens again, I will certainly use the cage.  Not sure what my Lhasa Apso will say to that, as she already feels a bit jealous of divided attentions.  lol.  We,ve purely blocked off the nests, and it seems to have done the trick, they're now coming out and eating again.  I'll keep you all posted.  Many thanks
