Perches...Round or Square?
« on: June 03, 2009, 16:24 »
I'm just about to get my Ex-Battery Hens in a weeks time...and the Hen House is built, etc....but what sort of Perch is best? I was going to use an old Hand Rail from a Staircase, which is about 2x2 Inches round dowel. Would that be ok?
Or would a Square Perch be best 2x2 Inch.

                                                            Tim.

mine's 2 inches wide, so it should be okay.
and if it's round anyway, that's good.
you might want to sand it down if it's painted or varnished - they'll slip off otherwise!!
