Teeny bee hive.....
« on: June 07, 2009, 22:06 »
....on the ceiling in my garage. It's smaller than a tennis ball with a very tiny hole in it. Hubby says it is active.  The bees'll be all over my lavender soon  :).

Does it look a bit like this?

If so, it is a wasp's nest, I had the exact same thing in my shed and it was full of larvae.

Yes it does scabs, what did you do with it?
The one I've got has a hole to the side of it and doesn't have an overlap it's just ball shaped.

I meant to smoke it out then destroy it, but I accidentally set it on fire. It worked out fine, but I was a bit worried about my shed for a moment there...

It burned much like a Chinese lantern

I found one of those with a fork two years ago

Stung twice once by a wasp, the second by an emergency GP when I had to pay a prescription charge for a kenolog injection. ???

There is an aerosol wasp nest killer that allows you to keep well away from the action. :)

On closer inspection today, it does have an overlap. With a garden fork and a bin bag maybe I can remove it & um, bin bag it  ???
