Here is a topic about equipment - he is 6'2" and she is 5'7 so their digging-equipment needs are different.
He started his allotment career with 'ordinary' length spades and forks. However, this resulted in a pain in the back. Then oneday (a decade or more ago) he saw some extra long tools and has never looked back. They have both had to be repaired - the blade part of the spade broke off the handle, but our local motor mechanic did a super job welding it back on, with reinforcement. Replacements seem to be unavilable and, as there is no name on them we can't take it up with the manufacturer. We have recently seen one a bit longer than the regular spade, but it is still not long enough.

Does anyone know who makes long implements for gorillas?

Gorilla length tools are: 48-1/2" (1.23m); Man-length: 38-1/2" (0.98m); Girlie-length: 36-1/4" (0.92m)
(This is the overall length - handle and blade/tines).

We also have a special little (plastic) nailbrush - bought some time ago at ? - it has a row of bristles on the top - ideal for cleaning fingernails after a session on the plot. It's getting a bit old now and we can't find a replacement - every shop we go into has a nailbrush, but none have these extra bristles! Any suggestions? (We had a wood one, but it only lasts 5 minutes!)

Wow - Brill, thank you. I did a search but did not find this one. I am going to the USA very soon, so will have a look there and get a couple.

I bought a long handled fork from get digging it does not have the handle bit at the top but it has saved my back and I bought what I think is called and Irish Shovel it has a long sunstantial handle but when your shifting loads of soil its very well balanced and not too heavy I am only 5'8"  but 6' 3" OH says he coudl dig with it  - not that he has Im think their site is get-digging.com
