The chicken who was sitting on 3 fertilized eggs in the main hen house (her sister is sitting on 6 in a seperate house) went out for a break at lunch time.  I have just found her 3 hours later sitting on the 2 freshly laid eggs in the wrong nest box!!  How long do eggs survive without heat - shes been sitting for about a week??

Do I just leave them and hope for the best???

Any suggestions?

when we were hatching our duck eggs (actually Sam's duck eggs) the power went off overnight, we tried to warm them back up, we didn't have much hope............but, we did get 22 live ducklings, i agree with the fox and would leave well alone for the moment.

May be able to fix up broody coop no.2 for her - took a second look at Nana's old sideboard (cupboard & drawers) sitting in the outbuilding....
One of us must have sufficient carpentry skills!!!
