I needed sunblock so I went for it..
« on: April 25, 2009, 20:14 »
Having to put suncream on made my mind up and this morning I went down the plot to put in the sweetcorn and transplant my leeks.  I have interplanted them as they are apparently good companions.

I have put the leeks down  deep holes made with a dibber and filled the holes with water - is that it now till Leek and Chicken pie time comes?

Also strimmed a lot of grass back and murdered some bramble - unofrtunately, my neighbour seems to have given up on their plot (came once, dug some turf up and never seen them since) which means the grass, weeds and brambles are going made on their plot unchecked.  Is there anything I can do as they are invading my patch GRRRRRRR!
Plot 11L Woodhall allotments, Chelmsford, Essex.

It's against the law in Australia to fornicate with a kangaroo.................unless you are drunk!!!  Otherwise, it'd be disgusting :@

I've never heard of it either, and seeing as sweetcorn is good for blocking out low habit weeds, I fear for your leeks.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I had very few weeds amongst my sweetcorn last year, they are excellent shader plants and quite a hungry crop. If you can I'd move the leeks

where have you heard that peanut?

was mentioned in Kitchen garden magazine i think.   I've got plenty of spares and time if it doesn't work - that's what I love - trail and error.

Thats it with gardening what can work for you, may not work for me, but may for peapod. So let us know how successful you are with it please.  :D
