Seed Progress
« on: April 07, 2009, 14:59 »
Hi everyone, my first full year this year (got our plot in July last year).  Having a great time planting seeds and have spent a lot of yesterday and today repotting.

Here is my progress so far.  View from the door:

View of far bench (made from pallets by my OH) with chilli, sweetcorn (repotted today so might not survive), sweet pepper and tomatoes:

View of side bench (made from my son's high sleeper when he outgrew it!) with tomatoes, some chillis and some courgettes, strawberries and melons if you can spot them!

and a picture of my cucumbers which are in the greenhouse under additional plastic to minise drafts (something I read on here yesterday!)  Two different varieties.  I haven't potted these on yet, they are still in their individual modules:

Also in the greenhouse that you might spot from the first picture are tomatoes in grow bags / containers, spring onions planted last year, peas in toilet roll inners, sweetcorn planted today (incase the early lot fail) and three large pots planted yesterday containing radish, lettuce and rocket.

I love spring!

WOW and i thought my greenhouse was packed!!!
Do you have any heating in there ? everything seems well advanced......i must be sowing later than you.......haven't even started on cue, courgettes or corn :D

If i did i think that apart from frost to contend with i'd be running out of space to pot on before stuff could go outside ???

Good luck with you lot tho.....i'm just not as brave

Looking good Elcie, just wondered where you would put it all when they all "grow up" ?

sounds like a good excuse to go out and get another greenhouse  ;)  Looking good Elcie - you really needn't worry about the sweetcorn ... let's put it this way, mine look exactly the same & it wasn't long ago sown.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.  I am feeling very proud of them at the moment, fingers crossed they survive and produce!

I will have lots of leftovers and, as posted on another thread, will be giving some away.  Got a couple of people coming tomorrow who posted wanted ads on Freecycle.Might consider car boot/fete next year but would want to see they are successful this year first!
