Tell him oh yes minister and then completely ignore them.

Works great with most busybodies.

Unfortunately this "theres only one way to do it attitude"is around on some comitees, they may have agreat deal of knowledge gathered over the years but are not always ready to embrace different ideas to their own.Carry on maybe you could even try to get on to the commitee and change their views that way

Oh Dear!  Have just read through this thread - I do sympathise with you Doubledug. I find it astonishing that there are some sites that are so incredibly restrictive - usually just one or two people who are desperate to hold onto a bit of control and influence over others, without much if any logic applied.  I truly Thank Heaven that my site is so laid back, and an absolute delight to garden on.  Every single plot is different from its neighbour, with typically laid out plots, not a weed in sight and all in the neatest rows (the old boys), ramshackle plots, quirky plots, plots given over mainly to hens, plots with just willow trees on, decorative plots, stunning Chelsea Flower Garden plots (and mine bringing up the  rear.  A bit of a mess but I like it!)

Just smile  and say they are temporary paths :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: and just do your own thing. Noone ever go thrown off a plot for something like this, surely.

Well what do you know , the secretary passed by my plot this evening so i casually mentioned what had taken place. He seemed a little bewildered and agreed that i had done a good job in clearing and preparing the plot,he wisely avoided taking sides but i think i have support in high places.  HA HA today no dig beds on plot 42 tommorow the world  ;)

As far as I was aware as long as the plot is mostly weed free and looks tidy  it's nothing to do with them

not all sites are the same there are many restrictions on our site ,which is  private not council and on the whole i agree with them though some are a bit petty. I visited one recently where anything goes and i would not thank you for a plot there. But when it comes to what and how you grow it i agree that is down to the tennant ,as long as its not a field of cannabiss i suppose.

Good on yer Doubledug but I think I would have needed a new tongue as I would have bitten it so hard or perhaps someone would have had their fortune told
