Definately dig. Try not to make a job of it,just set a managable target each visit and enjoy it.Get fit in doing so and try not to lose to much weight.

I totally agree. My plot was a ruin when I took it over in May 2007 and I hand dug the whole lot which took me ages but was well worth it. This summer the only weed I was bothered with was Mares tail, all the couch and dock that was on my plot did not return.
99% Organic and 1% Slug Pellets.

Allotment holder since 27th May 2007.
