Mild tasting Onions

Looking forward to next year, can anyone recommend a nice mild onion to grow.?

There are so many varieties to choose from, it's so daunting going through the seed catalogues.

Also, has anyone grown the Burpless Cucumber? I always get indigestion but this variety sounds just the ticket

cheese, lettuce n cucumber sarnies. Yum

Thanks for any advice given.

I grew Burpless last year. Easy to grow, i just let it do its own thing on some netting. Lovely taste as well, i couldn't say if it is 'burpless' as dont suffer with cues tho.

Ailsa craig onions I'm trying this year are supposed to be mild so we'll see!

I would also agree... Ailsa Craig onions tend to be on the mild side, however, my perception of mild might be different to yours.

Blimey, I grew both Ailsa Craig onions, from seed. (I can't say I thought they were mild though) and burpless green tasty's. Agree with above, really easy growers, and nice taste.
