Mixed Grit
« on: September 19, 2008, 20:51 »
Whats the best way of providing the mixed grit?  So far everything I've tried has just ended up over the run floor which they seem to then ignore. It seems a little coarse to put in the mash and they still wont touch pellets.

On a side note my 3 have raided the herb garden and eaten all the parsley (a better fate than the oregano suffered.... really need to bin that now). I assume this "self seasoning" wont hurt them?

Make yourself a fairly high sided wooden box to put them in. To encourage them, I sometimes throw the odd hanful of grain in with the grit.
