Problem Patch
« on: August 04, 2008, 23:22 »
I have a part of my allotment that has had an old path through it I have riddled as much as I can to remove the larger stones.

What do you suggest I plant in this area seen as whatever I do plant has a higher chance of hitting a stone.

Would I be ok to plant strawberry plants, Raspberrys or even Rhubarb as the roots will find their way around easier?

Am I right?

Regards

I would dig some manure in first before planting anything, but what you suggested should be fine.

All those fruits you suggested are fine in stoney areas. It's where I planted all of mine after I bunged in loads of manure first. They have no problem at all with stones, nor even rocks.
