I met up with trever from poulet anglais today at a local BP service station !!great chicks thriving in the brooder .great friendly service .
they got news paper as bedding at the moment an got eggs trays full of starter crumbs and a big drinker !! is there anythink i can do to make them thrive even more ??

I did want Meat birds but think I would get too attached.

Brian said newspaper not a good idea as it has printer ink and glycerine on it, and the chicks will eat anything under their feet!  we use shavings, then put an old clean sheet over them for the first 3-4 days, that also helps prevent splayed legs, so this website I found told me!  then when you take the poop covered sheet off, they have nice clean shavings under them!  or as you only have a few, perhaps a pillowcase would be big enough?

I'm pleased you are pleased, as I would recommend Poulet to anyone!  He is brilliant, and Trevor is nice too isn't he???
