Taking off Netting
« on: May 30, 2008, 14:11 »
Hi,

I've been covering my seedlings etc with some garden netting to keep the birdies away and the plants are now getting up to the top of the netting, plus as my allotment seems to be a huge wind-tunnel at the moment, the canes that are holding the netting keep coming down anyway. Everything is looking fairly sturdy now, do you think it'll be ok to tak them off, or should I try and make the frames higher and a bit more sturdy?

Cheers,

Arls

If we're talking brassicas, with the pigeons on our plot, we daren't leave them un-netted until the last one is cut or picked.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Hi,

yes, I've got everything covered bar the potatoes and some peas.

We seem to have crows (or birds from that family) rather than pigeons, but I'll have a think about how to change the netting.

Cheers,

Arls
