Potatoe Question...
« on: July 13, 2008, 20:47 »
Hi all, Ive successfully grown some spuds and am picking them now, seems Im using more than I thought so I was wondering if I could plant some more for later in the year..

If I can, can anyone recommend a fast maturing general purpose spud?

Thanks for taking a look..

I don't know if they are any good as I've not grown them myself, (there has been a recent thread on these).

Other members have reported variable results & my comment was, after adding P & P at £3.95, that no way would I pay nearly 13 quid for 2 kg of seed spuds!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Get your winter caulis & spring cabbage sown for planting out later.

You could pop in a few peas, (I just have), but these are prone to mildew at this time of year.

You won't get any seed spuds other than the type you've pointed out.

This is not the 'natural' time of year to be planting spuds. These have been specially treated.
