Blue seeds???
« on: April 20, 2008, 20:28 »
I was planting my tomato seeds today that I purchased from Marshalls.
Alicante and Sweet millions. The Alicante seeds were fine, but when I opened the packet of sweet millions I noticed the foil packet inside had been torn open (It wasn't me). The seeds were stuck inside the foil packet and were bright blue in colour like slug pellets, I scraped them out and planted them anyway being ever the optomist. Do you think they will be ok? Has anyone else experienced this before?
I have sent an E-mail to Marshalls and shall wait and see what they say.

Some opportunist employee? No, I've never had such tomato seed. Some seed is treated though without stating it, but the open foil is out of that range, give them a ring, maybe? 8)

Good news, the blue tomato seeds that I planted have just started showing in the last couple of days. :D
I sent an E.mail to Marshalls and they are going to send me another packet of seeds, no quibble. I've not received them yet though and feel a bit guilty as the ones I had appear to be ok.

I was going to say they sound mouldy, but if they grow, then that's okay, plus a freebie, don't feel guilty Clampit, they shouldn't have been opened before you got them!

I soweD some sweet million a couple of weeks ago, they were blue - I presumed it was fungicide.
They are doing far better than my other tomatos!
