Quick question   , slightly worried , I have a bantam sitting on hen eggs just now ( some 14 days ) , some times the the other hens jump in beside her and lay eggs, so i have marked all the eggs so i know which ones are freshly laid , Each day i take out the new additions , sometimes the hens kick her out the nest box to lay their own eggs . unfortunatly yesterday after being put out her nest box she went back into the nest box above and sat on them instead , her eggs may have been cold for some time . I put her back on them with no problems  . i'm wondering how long will the eggs survive cold ? I am a little concerend !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure of the answer :? I know when my broodies come nest to do their business they are only off no longer than 20mins. I am sure the others will be able to help a bit more.

I have known them hatch after being 12 hours without heat but i would suggest that you seperate your broody and give her some space for herself. I have had chicks hatch after the eggs have been kicked out of the nest but im not sure how long they was out maybe overnight.
Dont give up on them let her have her own space to sit them they could hatch.

If she can be bullied off the nest I don't think the chicks will stand a chance  :!: Definitely get some separate accomodation sorted asap.
