Last year U3A organised two trips, one to Torquay in April, which was cancelled, and the money was rolled over. The second one is late October to Blackpool, which I haven't paid yet. The organiser rang me a few days ago to say the trip is on and would I go. I initially said no because of the coach arrangements. She went on to tell me that Daish's Coaches also own the hotel. The coach will have been deep cleaned and the same at the hotel. Before getting on the coach our temperature will be taken. People from the same family can sit together, singletons like me will sit alone, which includes singletons who go with a friend, no sitting together. The toilet will be locked, and there will be comfort stops every 2 hours. There will be no re-cycled air, it will be from outside.
I hummed and hawed for a bit then made an instant decision to go. What is the worst that can happen, I could get Covid, or a cold, if very unlucky the flu., Legionaires Disease or a tummy upset. !!! But it is time to get out there and do something.
I haven't been to Blackpool for years so I am looking forward to a change of scene. Mrs Bouquet
