....not grow as many celeriac. After years of failure, two years ago I finally twigged that they need a very long season, copious feeding and very rich soil (heavily manured). I went overboard last February and started a few dozen in the propagator, planting them out in April. Talk about an abundance of riches!

After losing all my corn every year for 3 or 4 years I finally erected this last year and had my most successful harvest ever!

What I definitely need to remember to do is put labels on ALL my seedlings and make sure they don't get removed!

What was the cause of the problem?
we also rescue rabbits and guinea pigs, grow own veg

Hahaha, on the subject of leeks, I must remember to only start them off in late April or early May to plant out late June. My entire earlier planting of a couple of hundred leeks have wood-like centre stems so that only the outer part is edible

My corn was routinely eaten, ripped off the stalk and scattered around just as they ripened, the word on the site was that it was badgers but I believe it was squirrels as they scaled various attempts to fence it in
