It was a tad blowy here yesterday and the ties on the fig tree popped and one trunk (half the tree) snapped off at the roots !
I said i would have to thin it out to make it easier to pick fruit, job done !
Hope the other half survives as it was fruiting very well.

The ties were new this year but obviously not heavy enough.

Time to check your own ?

Those huge fig leaves do act as sails in high wind, don't they? 

 At least you have half left and they do respond extremely well to hard pruning, albeit rather ad hoc in this case
