I am a novice at growing vegetables. I have had some leeks in a corner of my garden and I have not touched them for over 18 months. They were woody and gone to seed but when I pulled them they had healthy looking bulbs attached to the base of the stem. What can I do with them?

I've never seen that, but I would plant them and see what happens.

Yes, do plant them up, they will be good to use from next spring onwards. That's how champion growers grow some of their best leeks, I'm told. :)
