Grow to a huge size..... Most of us are waiting for them to grow to ANY size....
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

My only survivor is now 3 inches tall.
If I take out the growing tip there will be nothing left. Poised and waiting for the huge size!

Here we all are taking the mickey out of the poor fragile little seedlings.  I've got a funny feeling they wil pay us back and we will all be hacking our way into our greenhouses with machetes in a few weeks.

I can already hear the chorus of 'Waddya mean, you have to anyway New Shoot, you cram so much in there '  ::)

Mine are seriously looking bigger every day and they have that norty look about them that says 'You may mock, but you just watch us take over the minute your back is turned'  ;)

I have a couple of plants. planted from seed in a heated  greenhouse on 15th March. Took forever to get going with plenty of shrivelled dried out leaves at first. Now they are in 8 inch pots and 5 ft tall with lots of tendrils (tied in with string) and lots of tiny tiny fruit (the size of pine nuts). No sign of them expanding yet but the plants look green and healthy. Taking care not to overwater. I guess that they just take a long time to grow.

I planted cucino f1 mini cucs a few weeks earlier and have had lots of cucs from them already which backs up the time theory.

If I knew how to put a pic on the site, I would. Any tips?

Crikey Marcus, they look like triffids!   Did you pinch the tops off and if so, at what height?

No, I have not pinched them out. Should I?

I have tied stings from the top of the stake to the roof of the greenhouse. There are lots of tendrils etc which I have tried to train upwards by wrapping the pmant in some twine.

I don't know tbh, thought someone mentioned it earlier on and that it helped them to 'bush out'.... :)

I take the tips of mine out, saves them getting huge, must have read it somewhere, or on the seed packet.
