Hello

I hope i dont seem silly with this question. New to allotments and growing.You know when you find a potatoe that been left alone and it starts to sprout can you plant these or is it just going through the process?.

I take it that you mean one that you've found in your cupboard or else where.

You can plant these, but it's very unwise. You don't know if it's harbouring any disease. It's best to use certified seed spuds. They're not that expensive.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

You can plant it, but you run the risk of introducing diesease. Seed potatoes should be certified diesease free.
