Seed spud deliveries
« on: January 16, 2013, 16:41 »
When do most places send seeds spuds out?

I've ordered from Kings and was led to believe Jan/Feb but my account says the order has been dispatched, but I've not had any notification emails, and they don't appear to be in any rush to reply to my queries either.

Mine are staying at our local nursery for as long as possible - easier to store that way. In a week  or two I'll wander down to see what's in.... usually tons!

That'll suit me nicely - preferably even a week or two into February

Another company just north of here sent theirs the weekend before winterville  :nowink:  luckily it was only a small order

I'm quite willing to wait, just annoyed at the lack of response. It's much easier for me for them to store them a while longer. Only it's the first time I've ordered from Kings and while they've got a good name I've found their customer service to be a bit lacking. I never recieved an order confirmation at all, I had to email several times just to make sure my order had gone through, and now the same with the dispatch, if it has actually happened.

I've never been given a despatch date or notice of seed potatoes being sent from any online supplier  until I get home from work and find a card shoved through the letter box to say there is a parcel (tossed) over the back gate  >:(

So I do think an estimated date of despatch should be standard (estimated as in "end of .... month" not generic like "between January & May")

My T&M order arrived o.k.
Marshalls sent me a despatched notification eight days ago but they still have not arrived.

I finally heard from Kings after waiting three days. The want my postcode so they can track my order, despite me giving them the order number and details ::)

Waiting for them to get back to me again.

I hope, when they are finally sent, they stay unfrozen in the post.

I collect mine from a local nursery where they have lots of types... loads cheaper - no delivery charge.

Two years ago my supplier said in the small print that they would not send out seed potatoes if there were frosts forecast so they didn't end up stuck in the back of a freezing cold post van.
