Hi,

A couple of my (newly constructed!) raised beds get sunshine for only part of the day. Are there any things that will tolerate this more than others? Just trying to plan out where to plant things...

Lettuce, kale, coriander, rocket, endive, parsley, ps broccolli have all done well in my shady bed.
Anything but tomatoes are worth trying, although I don't know about roots.

Hi Matt80, are you judging by the sun as it is at the moment, in the height of the summer it may be in more sunshine as the sun is alot higher, just a thought!!!!

But there is a smallish tree that will still cast some shadow over one of my beds sometime in mid-afternoon I expect

a small tree won't be a problem. Dappled shade will be ok and help in hot sunny days (should we ever get any)
