I have run out of growing room in my south facing back garden and thinking of adding a small raised bed in my front garden, which get shade until about 3pm each day.

Would this be worth doing?  What plants would I be able to plant here which would be ok with the shade?

Salad leaves are perfectly happy in shade.

I would suggest lettuce too. I actually grew bush tomatoes in the shade last year as well as rhubarb. Other things I've grew which only got very early morning or evening sun are peas, cabbage, beetroot, carrots

I agree with the others. I've recently turned most of my back garden over to raised beds, (due to vandalism on my allotment  )
Three of the beds are almost completely shaded for most of the day and I was doubtful as to how successful they'd be for veg growing. Happy to report that I have lots of lovely lettuce, various brassica growing well so far, peas, carrots and squash in these beds. Based on that, I'd say go for it

No shade until 3pm or so is pretty good so you should be able to grow a lot in those beds. A friend of mine is in the same situation and grows everything. Things will mature later due to the limited sunlight but they'll eventually get there.
