Garlic is a better companion for defeating carrot fly. Reason being, the smell and taste of garlic evolved in order to deter bird and insect pests.

I had bad whitefly in greenhouse 2 years ago. Planted French marigold last year, whitefly was less but still quite bad. Did I not grow enough, do something wrong?

I did also grow African Marigolds, so they were about half-and-half. I would guess total Marigold plants = total (Tomato + Melon) plants.

CCA greens/corriander/purslane up the middle of runner/french beans
fast growing brassicas between slow growing ones: rapini/turnips for tops/40 day greens/40 day calabrese between PSB/sprouts.
a few sweetpeas along with the french/runner beans (looks pretty)
