New Shoot V the weeds - part 2
« on: September 02, 2011, 19:59 »
 Winning the war slowly  :)

This is the top end where most of the little blighters are out

Mind you, this is the other end where the sweetcorn and blight ridden tomatoes have just come out.  Look how the mildew on the courgette leaves sparkles in the sunshine

One step at a time  :D

I filled one green wheelie bin a couple of weekends ago with weeds from the lotty.  The number of dandelions which came out   I've got to go back this weekend and nuke the nettles ... mwahahaha
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

yes yes, I'm in mwaahaaahaaa mode too  - spent ages hand-weeding round me autumn sown carrots. OH went in with a hoe and grrrrrrrrrrrrrr you can guess the rest. "Oh let ME do that, sigh". think he does it deliberately so I DO take over. Crafty beggar!
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

I've had bad mildew on my courgettes too but it doesn't seem to affect the fruiting. New leaves are growing healthy so I'm snipping off most of the mouldy ones and feeding.
I think the mildew is lessening now the evenings are cooler.
