Good idea, I think wheel weights would be the best as it would keep the balance better

If you bolted some brackets onto the wheel, and then tapped them out it would be easy to put the weights on, with long bolts. I would make the weights by burning to shape layers of 10mm plate.

my auto cultos carry wheel wieghts 5 to a wheel  each ones wieghs 10 lbs and is adjustable to aloow the teeth on them to dig in the soil  it drops down so the teeth go out over the tread of the tyre , the wheel itself wieghs 75 lbs being cast iron. the whole machine comes in at 3/4 tonne pic on my website  below

so karl if the engine konks out theres no chance of moving it or even worse trying to get it on the back of the van
